Tarot Card of the Month - April

“All systems of divination can be tools into another world. Join me as we explore one Tarot card each month to see how the Tarot can serve as a tool towards spiritual awakening and aligning with your personal sovereignty. " - Nikki Aggarwal

As I shuffled through my trusty Tarot deck, I held the following intention in my heart:

What card would serve the readers most for April 2026?

Our result?...

Queen of Swords!

We’re back to the Court cards this month, which we haven’t seen since September 2025. And in full synchronicity, the Queen of Wands was the card we received back then. This repetition of the Queen energy is a nice reminder to continue nurturing what

you’ve been working on or what you started back in September 2025.

To receive the Queen of Swords for April is also quite aligned with where we are in the year. Swords are related to the element of air, and as we just entered Spring in the Northern hemisphere, aren’t we all ready for a breath of fresh air? I know that I am!

The suit of Swords is about fighting illusion. Traits of this suit include independence, being goal oriented, and being assertive. As an air element, thought and communication are major themes, especially around seeking truth.

Ever heard the phrase, “double edged sword?” In Tarot terms, that means this suit represents the archetypal illusions of duality or opposites. In other words, one who consciously embodies the energy of this suit can navigate the complexities of opposites and hold space for both, making neither right nor wrong, and accepting that all things serve a purpose in the overall dance of life. But fall blind to its energy and you can run yourself upon your own sword (meaning self-destructive behaviors).

With all that said, let’s dive deeper into the Queen of Swords to see what it wants to teach us about ourselves this April!

As the 13th card in the suit, the Queen card is a numerological combination of the energies of the Death (13) and Emperor (4) Major Arcana cards. Death offers release and insight while the Emperor offers protective boundaries and the active principal of movement, which explains the Queen’s expert level of balance between the two extremes.

Specifically for Swords, this 13 th position translates to having the ability to see what needs to be done, and to create a system that accomplishes it. In doing so, the Queen of Swords can honor its deep sense of responsibility and its desire to prioritize authentic movement, all while maintaining a balance of justice and compassion. Also, the number13 is related to the principle and energy of the Divine Feminine, which speaks to cycles and flow. This means that it is a good time to reflect on what cycle you are in and how you are flowing through it (or not, and how you can alter your course).

From a high-level perspective, the Queen of Swords brings you the fruits of your experiences, even amidst the inevitable losses and lessons that come with living a human life. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, working with the Queen of Swords can help you use your intelligence to understand the pearls of wisdom buried within any sorrowful experience.

The Queen of Swords reminds you to align your willpower with your higher principles so that you can work on your life’s goals with self-assurance and self-confidence. It can help you rally your inner strength so that you can carry forward in life, even through the limitations of density here on Earth.

Empowered, the Queen of Swords is the queen of perception, knowing how to use logic, quick wit, and a keen eye to understand the larger picture of any situation without getting swept up in the temporary emotional charge of the moment. With her support, you can better utilize a mature, logical outlook that can only be cultivated from years of direct learning and experience. Her approach is forthright because she knows she is capable, will work hard, and knows her personal powers, and she wants the same for you!

Wounded, the Queen of Swords cannot access higher logic in moments of emotional charge and therefore loses focus. Being in this wounded energy can make you get lost in the moment and lose your power to things outside

of your control. Unattended, this creates walls of separation, an intolerance for other peoples’ ideas, getting stuck in a singular point of view, and being overly critical of others or becoming highly self-righteous.

In its full potential, the archetype of the Queen of Swords combines control, logic, and discipline with gentleness, compassion, and love for the self. It can teach you how to honor multiple perspectives while trusting your own discernment to choose which perspective works best for you. The Queen of Swords knows that kindness and boundaries are not opposites but are compliments to each other that can help you define your needs, your values, and your desires in a direct and intimate way.

So for April, I invite and encourage you to embrace the guidance of the Queen of Swords. From a practical perspective, to utilize the energy of the Queen of Swords for your mental self-care, carry a notebook or journal with you throughout the day to write down any introspective questions that come to you. Then, at the end of the day, explore writing about the questions that you received. For your body’s self-care, shake up your eating routine by introducing something new and deeply nourishing to your daily or weekly menu. For your spirit’s self-care, claim time and space in your schedule to pray, to meditate, or to speak positive affirmations to yourself. It is vital that we ground in and embody more of our soul’s energy into our bodies and onto the Earth plane as much as we can! Also, you can work with the energy of Motherwort to help you think and speak truth. In other words, the spirit of this herb can help you say what you mean and mean what you say.

Finally, here are some journaling questions that you can ask yourself and write about when you work with the archetype of the Queen of Swords:

How organized are your thoughts?

Are you creating structures for your intellectual pursuits?

By what ideals do you live?

Is it time to redefine or completely rewrite your ideals?

How would new ideals change and better support your life?

How have your expectations of yourself and of others prevented you from changing

your situation or from acting spontaneously?

These questions are an invitation to dive deep into your psyche to explore what is there that you want to keep, what you might want to adjust, or what you might want to get rid of completely. Much of the process of growth, development, and ascension involves exploring the inner depths of our own minds so that we can excavate the gold that is deep within and wash away the sediment that doesn’t belong there anymore. Think of inner inquiry like sifting for gold. That is how I like to see it.

And if you need help, then reach out. You can send me a message through my website to schedule a Zoom reading! Or you can inquire about one of my coaching or healing packages. My goal is to help my clients feel stronger, more self-empowered, and aligned with their personal sovereignty as we both get to witness how the changes that they make inside of themselves can radiate out to create transformation in their outer world, too.

Remember, you deserve the best that you can give yourself!

Peace and blessings to you and yours, and in loving light, I look forward to exploring next month's Tarot card! ✨
