As I shuffled through my trusty Tarot deck, I held the following intention in my heart:

What card would serve the readers most for August 2026?

Our result?...

7 of Coins!

If you’ve been keeping track, this is our 4 th Coins card in a row! May was the 9 of Coins, June the Queen, July the Knight, and now August is the 7 of Coins! The energy of the number four is all about being grounded, stable, sturdy, and in touch with Earth. Yet, we’ve been popcorning around within this suit. This can indicate inconsistency in progression, or the feeling of not being able to keep your feet on the ground or the rug beneath you – meaning you keep feeling like the rug is getting pulled out from under your feet. Does that resonate? It does for me!

Regarding the number 7, it represents divinity, wholeness, striving for perfection, and learning life lessons. Often a sign of initiation, the 7 deals in obstacles or ordeals, temptations or tests in life, and how to rise above them. It can also be a sign of achievement or victory, and can stimulate an increase in ideas, energy, and insights.

Overall, it speaks of development, movement, and the creation of a level of consciousness that can lead to transformation, if you are open. Regarding the suit of Coins, aka Discs and Pentacles, it relates to the element of Earth – physical life. This could be your physical body, your home, your office, your vehicle, your wealth – anything related to this Earth plane of existence. Coins help us become grounded in this life so that we can feel comfortable enough to pursue spiritual growth. To do that, this suit relates to ego development and sensory experiences in order to guide us in learning who we are, how we function in the world, and how we relate to the

environment around us. Ultimately, Coins deal with how to use your intangible energy for expression and the development of Self in the physical plane.

Now, with all that said, let’s dive deeper into the 7 of Coins to see what it wants to teach us about ourselves this August!

From a high-level perspective, the 7 of Coins is something of a contemplative card as it speaks to the satisfaction of what you’ve accomplished so far and all the hard work you’ve put in, yet it acknowledges that there is still more to do. It’s about honoring and celebrating the good foundation that you’ve built while considering the next step. This card loves hard work, planning, and evaluation, so whenever you start a new project that involves a lot of work, bring in the support of the 7 of Coins to give you the oomph you need!

The energy of this card encourages you to focus on the pleasure and fulfilment you will experience when basking in the presence of your completed project. The work itself that is done at each step of the way is just as much of a reward as the finished product! While the results of your effort are almost due, a bit more patience is required while you integrate what you’ve learned through the process up until now before jumping into the next phase.

Empowered, the archetype of the 7 of Coins focuses on soul regeneration that can help realign and motivate you to continue with hard work after already accomplishing so much. Much like the gardener is the cultivator of the soul, as Clarissa Pinkola Estes writes, so too is the 7 of Coins a cultivator. It harvests new energy for the next step,

keeps track of what needs to be changed or replenished, and replaces the things that have worn out.

Wounded, the archetype of the 7 of Coins values work or money more than relationships, feels discouraged or doubtful about the value of efforts put in so far, or fails to check in and evaluate progress at regular milestones. This can also show up as conflict or competition between your ambition in life and the other things you value.

Meaning, there isn’t balance between work and play, so to say.

In its full potential, the archetype of the 7 of Coins is a reflection point where you get to stop and smell the roses of all that you have done so far while also evaluating if the path you are on is still right for you. If it is, then great, plan your next step! If it isn’t, then great again! Plan your pivot!

So, for August, I invite and encourage you to embrace the guidance of the 7 of Coins.

From a practical perspective, to utilize the energy of the 7 of Coins for your mental self- care, speak positive affirmations to yourself while looking into the mirror. It might feel awkward at first, but eventually, you may love it! For your body’s self-care, treat yourself to a spa day or a nice relaxing, detoxifying soak in the bath. You have certainly earned it! For your spirit’s self-care, bring more conscious intention into your purchasing decisions and make an effort to buy items that are more environmentally friendly.

Finally, if called, you can work with the spirit of the Oak tree to help you live according to the rhythms of Earth. It’s a great example of working slowly and steadily towards a goal that will serve for generations after you have transitioned on.

Here are some journaling questions/prompts that you can ask yourself and write about when you work with the archetype of the 7 of Coins:

• Where are you in your process / project / goal?

• How does it feel in your body when you acknowledge the resources you have gathered /

• created so far?

• What does the road ahead look like?

• How can you pivot if necessary?

• What might you be protecting that is keeping you from living your fullest potential?

• What do you feel responsible for that might not be your burden to bear?

These questions are an invitation to dive deep into your psyche to explore what is there that you want to keep, what you might want to adjust, or what you might want to get rid of completely. Much of the process of growth, development, and ascension involves exploring the inner depths of our own minds so that we can excavate the gold that is deep within and wash away the sediment that doesn’t belong there anymore. Think of inner inquiry like sifting for gold. That is how I like to see it.
