Tarot Card of the Month - May

“All systems of divination can be tools into another world. Join me as we explore one

Tarot card each month to see how the Tarot can serve as a tool towards spiritual

awakening and aligning with your personal sovereignty." - Nikki Aggarwal

As I shuffled through my trusty Tarot deck, I held the following intention in my heart:

What card would serve the readers most in the 5th month of 2025?

Our result?...

The Hierophant!

We continue the second quarter of 2025 with more elevated energy as The Hierophant

invites and encourages us to create routines, boundaries, and strong foundational

structures in our lives, especially ones that nurture the nobility of our work (as was the

theme of last month’s message from the 3 of Coins).

When we receive a Major Arcana card, we are invited to dance with the archetypal

energy that the card carries with it. For the Hierophant, the overarching message is that

of the inner teacher. Within each of us, there is a part that is always connected to higher

wisdom. This part serves as a teacher, leader, or mentor, especially of spiritual concepts

and principles, and it is always available for us to resource at any time and for any

situation.

The biggest question that The Hierophant asks of us is: How strongly

are you connected to your inner teacher? The Hierophant encourages us to

build daily rituals, routines, boundaries, and support structures that nurture our

connection to our inner teacher, as well as to our own inner code of moral values.

When we are strongly connected to our higher wisdom, we are able to navigate the

complexities of modern life with ease and grace. However, if we do not establish our

own relationship with our unique, individual inner teacher, then we may be more

susceptible to blindly adopting the views, beliefs, and principles of others without

discernment. Further, we might then allow those external influences to rule over our life

rather than allowing them to simply guide our life.

From a numerological perspective, as this is the number 5 card on the Fool’s Journey towards

enlightenment, a call to change is implied. The Hierophant embodies the four Earthly

elements – earth, air, fire, and water – as well as the 5th energy of the ether or spirit.

Layer that with the 5 senses of the human experience – sight, sound, touch, smell, and

taste – and The Hierophant represents the bridge between the human experience and

spiritual knowing.

Contemplation and inspiration are the Hierophant’s preferred tools of teaching, all in an

effort to guide your outer development through philosophical inquiry. Holding space in

the infinite in-between areas of the tangible and the spiritual, the Hierophant offers

multiple solutions so that you can choose the one that is right for you.

The overarching questions to ask yourself when you see The Hierophant are:

What are your core beliefs?

Where do your core beliefs come from – you or someone else?

Do these core beliefs still resonate with you, or is it time to tweak them?

What is your process to learn from life experiences?

How does the history of your family or culture either support or challenge the lessons

that you have learned from your own life experiences?

These questions are an invitation to dive deep into your psyche to explore what is there

that you want to keep, what you might want to adjust, or what you might want to get rid

of completely. Much of the process of growth, development, and ascension involves

exploring the inner depths of our own minds so that we can excavate the gold deep

within, and to wash away the sediment that doesn’t belong there anymore.

Think of inner inquiry like sifting for gold, for that is how I like to see it.

Tap into the resource of your inner teacher – your highest wisdom – to support you in

the process of the sifting, for that is one of the reasons why this resource exists!
