“All systems of divination can be tools into another world. Join me as we explore one Tarot card each month to see how the Tarot can serve as a tool towards spiritual awakening and aligning with your personal sovereignty. " - Nikki Aggarwal
As I shuffled through my trusty Tarot deck, I held the following intention in my heart:
What card would serve the readers most for April 2026?
Our result?...
9 of Coins!
With all the stimulation that kicked off 2026, the 9 of Coins (aka Discs and/or Pentacles) comes to us for May with an invitation to slow down, ground ourselves back into nature, and realign with what balances us so that we can be prepared for what’s on the horizon. On the surface, the suit of Coins relates to all things physical: Earth, your home, your
body, your job / career, your finances, etc. Deeper though, this suit relates to the development of the ego and to the sensory experiences we have in life that help us learn who we are and how we function in the world. All physical things are simply manifestations of energy. In other words, all things are energy, even that which seems solid. So, the spiritual messages from this suit deal with how to use our energy for both self-expression and self-development. With all that said, let’s dive deeper into the 9 of Coins to see what it wants to teach us about ourselves this May!
As the 9th card in the suit, the energy of completion is strong with this card. Nine indicates a build up of achievements that are on the verge of payoff. Meaning, what you have been focusing on and working towards is near its conclusion, or at least near the end of its current stage. This means change is on the horizon and you are close to the end of your journey as you know it.
From a high-level perspective, the 9 of Coins speaks to feeling content with the progress you’ve made so far and feeling as though you are ready to enjoy the fruits of your labor, at least for a nice break. To reach this level demonstrates a history of functioning with dedication, intention, and clarity of purpose. You have paid your dues,
showed patience and perseverance in the face of difficult times, and know what it means to be self-reliant.
The 9 of Coins reminds you that it’s okay to pause, smell the roses, realize the progress you have made, honor what you have accomplished so far, and acknowledge the fact that you are so much closer to your goal than you realized!
Empowered, the archetype of the 9 of Coins basks in the glory of hard work done well. This energy communicates the end of a cycle winding down before the ignition of the next. In that transition between the cycles, this energy reminds you to stop, honor your senses, and enjoy some of the rewards of your effort. Explore your surroundings, get curious about who you have become thanks to your journey so far, and wonder who you
are becoming.
Wounded, the archetype of the 9 of Coins experiences disappointment or failure due to a lack of discipline or dedication – think of the High School student who coasted through school without any purpose or direction and finds themselves lost upon graduation, or the 30/40+ year old adult who’s career or family life falters around aimlessly without fulfilment because they could not or would not bring intention or singularity of purpose
into their lives. If ever you realize you don’t know what you want, or have an imbalance between what you want and what you are willing to do to make it happen, or a resistance against making decisions that would help you move forward in life, know that the wounded energy of the 9 of Coins could be playing in the background of your subconscious mind.
In its full potential, the archetype of the 9 of Coins enjoys a natural balance between work and play, knows how to invest in a good and enriching time, and has faith in knowing that they have set themselves up in a way that they can navigate any future challenges that come their way. Why? Because they know who they are, where they are going, what resources they have available, and how to use those resources! Not to mention the valuable contacts and connections they made while keeping their nose to the grindstone and getting things done!
So, for May, I invite and encourage you to embrace the guidance of the 9 of Coins.
From a practical perspective, to utilize the energy of the 9 of Coins for your mental self-care, take some time off from work and turn off all notifications (including social media) on your phone so you can relax and enjoy the comforts you have built for yourself. For your body’s self-care, spray your pillows with diluted chamomile or lavender essential oils to promote restful sleep. For your spirit’s self-care, find new ways to reduce your
environmental impact and be more helpful for our beloved planet. Also, you can work with apples this month as one way to enjoy the fruits of your labor and to honor the wisdom and knowledge you have gained in your life’s journey. A bowl full of beautiful apples can brighten any kitchen or dining room, and a string of dried apple rings can remind you that the hidden star of hope sustains us all.
Finally, here are some journaling questions/prompts that you can ask yourself and write about when you work with the archetype of the 9 of Coins:
How can you show more gratitude towards yourself and what you have accomplished?
How is the health of your physical body?
How is the health of your home life?
How is the health of your financial security?
If your answers to the three questions above are not to your satisfaction, then make a
list of the things you need to do in order to improve your situation and make a plan on
how to integrate those changes one at a time.
What does it mean to you to be present in your joy?
These questions are an invitation to dive deep into your psyche to explore what is there that you want to keep, what you might want to adjust, or what you might want to get rid of completely. Much of the process of growth, development, and ascension involves exploring the inner depths of our own minds so that we can excavate the gold that is deep within and wash away the sediment that doesn’t belong there anymore. Think of inner inquiry like sifting for gold. That is how I like to see it.
And if you need help, then reach out. You can send me a message through my website to schedule a Zoom reading! Or you can inquire about one of my coaching or healing packages. My goal is to help my clients feel stronger, more self-empowered, and aligned with their personal sovereignty as we both get to witness how the changes that they make inside of themselves can radiate out to create transformation in their outer world, too.
Remember, you deserve the best that you can give yourself!
Peace and blessings to you and yours, and in loving light, I look forward to exploring next month's Tarot card! ✨
